One Life - Two Journeys

"You are simultaneously on two journeys. One is a horizontal journey represented by the story line of your life: life events, encounters, experiences, relationships, and outcomes. The other is a vertical journey represented by what is going on inside you: joy, sorrow, peace, frustration, numbness or aliveness. While most people believe and act as if the horizontal journey is their purpose in living, in truth we are here for the vertical journey. Behind all of your worldly exploits, you are a spiritual being here to unfold to your highest personal reward and expression. If you get hung up on the outer journey but do not recognize the inner one, you will be lost and confused in a big game of Chutes and Ladders that has no meaning or direction. If you check in with your inner self often and make course corrections in the direction of authenticity and joy, you will stay on track and your life will have meaning, purpose, and reward."
